Your Photo Session

You will need to allow up to an hour for your appointment, and, following initial discussions, we will guide you through your shoot, taking a wide variety of poses and groupings, if you have any ideas of your own we would be delighted to work with those.

We love to work with people and will strive to capture your individuality and style in an easy going casual way, so just relax and enjoy the experience. Anything goes! Our portraiture has no rules other than to create great images.

Selection of clothing is a question frequently asked and we are pleased to provide the following guidelines:

•    High key (white background) as bright and funky as you like!

An example of high key studio photography, sometimes referred to as ‘Venture Style Photography’ although they didn’t invent it.

•    Low key (dark background) The colour of clothing should be toned down. Bright colours attract attention away from the face, which is the most important part of the photograph.

•    Avoid the following if you can, bright white, hoops and stripes, again more important in the case of low key images.
•    Wherever possible please try to wear colours that co-ordinate with other members of your group.

Viewing your pictures! After your shoot we will make an appointment for you to come back and view your images, so it’s a good idea to bring your diary along with you.  Your images will be edited for you, leaving the best to choose from and you will have the opportunity to make a selection with expert guidance.
